2 month checkup

Yesterday was our 2month checkup with Dr. Miller. I must say I wasn't nervous at all going into the visit. I knew that Alec was a little nervous about our little girl having to get her shots, but I kept telling him that it wasn't a big deal. BOY was I wrong. The doctor's visit went well. Maddison weighed in at 10lbs 1oz. (She's put on 2lbs 8oz. in 6 weeks!!) Dr Miller left the room and my blood pressure sky rocketed! The nurse walked in and I took some deep breaths and position myself at Maddison's head so I could talk to her and touch her. I wanted her to know that I was there. The first shot came and the screaming started and the tears came! My heart just broke. Then next scream I heard was of pure terror and pain. The nurse had not helf Maddison's leg down when she injected and ended up scratching her down her leg. Then she had to stick her two more times. By the end of it, i couldn't get to her fast enough. She was screaming in ways I had never heard come out of her mouth. I started to cry. (even though I had told myself that I wouldn't!) 15 minutes later I was still trying to calm her down. She wouldn't stop crying. She was still crying when we were walking out to the car! She finally settled down while we drove down Walnut Grove. I promised her a night full of TLC and that's exactly what she got! I didn't want to let her go!

Today is a much better day for us. She is back to normal. She's had a couple of naps and we are packing our bags to go watch Memphis beat Texas A&M with some friends. She has her adorable Memphis Tigers onesie on that her wonderfully talented Aunt Jessica made for her. She is also getting ready for a photo shoot tomorrow afternoon with Aunt Jessica and April and baby Tatum. Look for her spring photo's on the website next week.
