7 more weeks to go...

Well...we've only got 48 more days to go. It's a countdown before our baby girl arrives. I am so excited that it's hard for me to sit still. I am soo excited about seeing her face and being able to touch her little body, but I think the thing that I am most excited about is seeing Alec hold her for the first time. I can't wait to see his face when she looks at him. I watch him stare so intently at my tummy waiting for her to move at night while we lie in bed. He is so patient as he waits for her to move across my stomach. Then he laughs as my bump moves up and down and side to side. That must be my favorite time of day...when the three of us are lying in bed and she's entertaining us.

I have to admit that I have been so blessed with this pregnancy. Not only are we having a little girl, but the pregnancy has been soo uneventful and normal. Sure, the first three months were dreadful with morning sickness. But I have to be honest when I say I love being pregnant. It seemed to take me FOREVER to even look pregnant. (Probably around week 30) But now, I look down and even though Imiss seeing my toes, I love seeing my bump and knowing that my baby girls is right there. She and I have had soo much bonding time, but I'm ready for Alec to have his bonding time with her too. (I'm hoping some of that time will come in the form of midnight help. Wonder if that's wishful thinking????)

Alec and I have been attending a childbirthing class on Tuesday nights. I have to say that it's great being around other pregnant couples and being able to relate to what they are going through. Now I have a better understanding of what will be going on D-Day (delivery day). Not that I'm going to remember any of it!!! But I'll be better prepared which will ease stress levels. This upcoming Saturday we are attending another class that is supposed to teach us how to survive the first few weeks. I have to say that I am looking forward to this class. A little more reassurance I suppose. Alec will learn how to change a diaper and swaddle Maddison. He's going to be an excellent father!!!

I hope this blog page will help everyone keep up to date with things going on with our lives, especially once Maddison arrives. (especially for Alec's family in England!!!)
