A Christmas Redo
Is it possible to redo Christmas? I pose this question only because I feel that Alec and I completely missed out on the Christmas festivities. Alec and I were all set for Christmas. We spent Saturday out and about picking up last minute gifts. (I always say that I won't be a last minute shopper, but somehow I always forget something or someone. This year I am blaming my pregnancy brain!!) Anway...we decided that we would spend Christmas Eve just the two of us. Enjoying some alone time in our house while we still have it. We had steak for dinner and watched some movies. We decided that it was time for some fun so we pulled out the game cube and played a couple of games. Then all of the sudden I lost Alec to the bathroom. The stomach bug struck our household once again. Alec spent the next 12 hours running from the bedroom to the bathroom and back again. Poor guy wasn't even interested in unwrapping his christmas gifts. I called my aunt and uncle and explained to them that we would not be attending the Christmas Brunch. We would be spending the day alone on the couch or in the bed. It was a sad day!!! I managed to take care of him and try to enjoy what was left of our Christmas before I started feeling queasy. Needless to say, I think this is a Christmas that both of us are willing to forget.

Baby Shower Pictures
Here are some of the pictures from Saturday's Baby Shower. I'm still waiting for some pictures from Jessica. Once I get those pictures, I promise to put them on here!!

This is what Alec and I saw hanging as we entered the door. How cute are these onesies!!!

Jessica and April worked on a couple of these onesies one afternoon! What lucky girls to spend an afternoon like that! Aimee, I'm sorry that I thought your puff paint onesie said "Check it out...I'm a retard". The retro onesie was FAB!! I love it!!

These are my wonderful hostess!! Aimee, Adriane, me and Jessica!! They sure do know how to throw a wonderful party!!
Thanks Ladies for everything. As soon as I get more pictures from Jessica, I'll post them. I'll also take more pictures of the onesies, up close and personal so you can see each one of them!!

Baby Shower
How wonderful was Saturday afternoon!!! It was soo nice to be surrounded by our friends who were there to celebrate our new arrival! I felt so blessed to have friends that took so much time into planning this shower. Part of the invitation was a onesie that each couple had to decorate and bring to the shower. What a great idea!! The first thing Alec and I saw as we walked into the clubhouse was the onesies hanging up. As soon as I can get the pictures posted, I will. They came in all different sizes and styles. It was such a wonderful gift. Maddison has a PHI MU IN TRAINING, a pink tie-dyed, a University of Memphis, and one of my favorites THIS END UP with arrows, just in case Alec gets confused when trying to dress her. The food was fantastic. Just enough for the afternoon. Little sandwiches, some fresh fruit, meatballs, veggies, and of course the cake. (Just thinking of it is making me hungry!!!)
I actually got to sit down and visit with everyone. Although I must admit that I always feel like I never get to spend enough time with my guests at these functions. I did however finally get a picture with Tatum Alivia and her mommy April. It's taken a while for me to get this picture. My sister beat me to a picture with Tatum at dinner one night and made it on to April's blog page.....so I had to get my turn in!!! I was soo happy to see that David came to the shower. Unfortunately, Allison was unable to attend due to grad school work. Who knew this close to christmas grad students would have to work!?!? It was nice to see David at the shower. It made my day!!! Terry and her little one Aiden stopped by to drop Maddie off some gifts!!! For those of you who don't know, Aiden is Maddison's soon to be boyfriend. He was born on Sept 11 and has been my practice baby until I have my own to hold. I've been telling him all about her and vice versa. I am so looking forward to watching them grow up together.
Anyway...Maddison received soo many goodies from such dear friends!! Lots of clothes, which is what we needed and bottles galore. She got her own little pink piggy bank and trinket box. A green tin filled with diapers (good call!! can never have too many, no matter what Alec might say), baby booties, two beautiful outfits, and a pink blanket. Maddie got her first soccer ball and a pink and yellow hooded towel set, along with other must haves!!! (Thanks to new moms for the advice!!!) As soon as I get a chance I will post the pictures of my shower gifts and her nursery. It's finally all falling into place!!
Alec and I have another shower here at work tonite. I'm sure that I will have more to post tomorrow morning and some pictures as well.

7 more weeks to go...
Well...we've only got 48 more days to go. It's a countdown before our baby girl arrives. I am so excited that it's hard for me to sit still. I am soo excited about seeing her face and being able to touch her little body, but I think the thing that I am most excited about is seeing Alec hold her for the first time. I can't wait to see his face when she looks at him. I watch him stare so intently at my tummy waiting for her to move at night while we lie in bed. He is so patient as he waits for her to move across my stomach. Then he laughs as my bump moves up and down and side to side. That must be my favorite time of day...when the three of us are lying in bed and she's entertaining us.
I have to admit that I have been so blessed with this pregnancy. Not only are we having a little girl, but the pregnancy has been soo uneventful and normal. Sure, the first three months were dreadful with morning sickness. But I have to be honest when I say I love being pregnant. It seemed to take me FOREVER to even look pregnant. (Probably around week 30) But now, I look down and even though Imiss seeing my toes, I love seeing my bump and knowing that my baby girls is right there. She and I have had soo much bonding time, but I'm ready for Alec to have his bonding time with her too. (I'm hoping some of that time will come in the form of midnight help. Wonder if that's wishful thinking????)
Alec and I have been attending a childbirthing class on Tuesday nights. I have to say that it's great being around other pregnant couples and being able to relate to what they are going through. Now I have a better understanding of what will be going on D-Day (delivery day). Not that I'm going to remember any of it!!! But I'll be better prepared which will ease stress levels. This upcoming Saturday we are attending another class that is supposed to teach us how to survive the first few weeks. I have to say that I am looking forward to this class. A little more reassurance I suppose. Alec will learn how to change a diaper and swaddle Maddison. He's going to be an excellent father!!!
I hope this blog page will help everyone keep up to date with things going on with our lives, especially once Maddison arrives. (especially for Alec's family in England!!!)
